Costume, Props and Weapon Rules

Costume Policy

No Nudity/NSFW cosplays 

  • Costumes that give the illusion of nudity or BDSM are not permitted
  • Costumes that can be considered underwear are prohibited from our events
  • When wearing slightly revealing costumes please consider the use of body tape or dance belts to keep everything contained and secured.

Costumes are limited to 2m x 2.4m between any two points excluding fabric and parts that can collapse to a smaller size such as wings.

You must be able to get through a standard size door unaided

Any trains or tails are permitted however please be aware in busy areas to avoid causing trips or slip hazards. 

No offensive or morally wrong costumes.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited items include but are not limited to:

  • Realistic Firearms (Real, Airsoft, BB Guns, Paintball including unpowered)
  • Realistic replica rockets, mortars and any other anti aircraft/artillery props.
  • Metal Blades of any kind whether blunt or sharp e.g Knives, swords and Axes
  • Blunt Weapons
  • Hard bats, paddles or clubs (Wooden or metal)
  • Brass Knuckles
  • Nunchakus
  • Functional Projectile 
  • Slingshots
  • Crossbows
  • Strung Bows
  • Water Guns (Allowed if not filled)
  • Darts
  • Throwing Stars
  • Heavy Tools
  • Crowbars
  • Hammers
  • Power tools (Chainsaws/drills etc)
  • Props that have glass or fragile materials that could be broken such as glass bottles
  • Heavy and large props
  • Fibreglass, hard wood, metal and dense items that may cause harm are prohibited
  • Props/weapons over 2 meters are prohibited
  • Unsecured whips
  • Pyrotechnics/explosives (Including, smoke, fog and glitter bombs)
  • No Alcohol
  • Lasers pointers regardless of being part of a costume or prop.
  • No drones and small remote control toys (even if not part of a costume)

Permitted Items

Permitted items include but are not limited to:

  • Non realistic weapons
  • Replica firearms with a clear and visible red/orange tip that can be seen from a distance and displayed at ALL TIMES.
  • Bows and crossbows are allowed IF unstrung and unable to fire
  • Umbrellas, walking aids and most musical instruments
  • Lightweight plastic, wood, LARP or foam props/weapons that can’t cause harm
